Forever Young
Join our group of ambitious youngsters. If you are over 55 (or feel that way), enjoy fellowship with a group
of new friends who aren't quite ready to settle back yet. We meet periodically. Keep an eye in the bulletin
or on the events page for further updates.
Meets monthly 4th Monday of every month.
And upcoming events to add to your calendar;
Monday July 25th 11:00 am Forever Young Gathering, meet in church parking lot . We'll be going to the Goose Creek Diner off of Westport Rd Imagine Rodney Dangerfield dressed up for a tropical vacation and you'll have a pretty good sense of the flamboyant Goose Creek Diner. Starting from the bottom, the place features squiggly carpet, booths of purple, orange and green, and bright yellow walls bedecked with whimsical images of cupcakes, peppers and mustachioed chefs. Black-topped tables and booths are adorned with paper flowers. And the place is generally a buzzing hive of happy activity. Unlike Rodney, the Goose Creek Diner seems to be well respected by folks drawn by a varied, well-executed, affordable menu and good service.
Tuesday August 23rd 11:00 a.m. Forever YoungGathering, meet in church parking lot, our annual summer trek to Slow Poke Farm. "Despite being only approximately30 minutes from the city of Louisville, Slow Poke Farm is surprisingly private and serene. It is a special place. That's why we are working so hard to keep it that way. Our family sees every guest who has visited our restaurant, every guest to the farm from school field trips, every sale of fresh produce or eggs, every sale of hay, corn or pumpkins as contributors to the preservation of the country way of life. Here at the farm we have chosen to enjoy what nature brings, be it an explosion of tulips in the spring, ripening vegetables in the summer, drifts of leaves from the sugar maples when frost fells the last flowers, or snow setting like powered sugar in the winter."
